On the floor. More like dirt and dust.
Cardboard. Furniture made of two by fours.
Memories I don’t have. Direction
I’m not sure where I am going. I had met Larry O’Brian
during the campaign in ’68 in California. And on the weekend
after June 4th, they brought me out to the ocean to recover
to teach me how to be safe in the ocean.
I had worked as a five-year-old on Bobby’s project in NY earlier.
In that I participated mostly for myself than what I could add.
And had already known him partially. I was five in 1966.
Two years later in 1968 I was enrolled in classes at Sea World and the
Presidio after that weekend and I learned how to swim safely in the ocean.
And when I was thirteen, I saved the eleven
year old son of our family friend down in Padra Islands.
I didn’t want to wait. I wanted to join the world
as soon as I could.
We attended school where we were.
Sometimes our friends would come out to us
and stay for a while. My life was full.
