The Once and Future King

I had been given a book after sitting in on a meeting. I was 7.

The sky was overcast that early afternoon. It was a conference room.

The windows were kinda gray outside and there were businessmen.

I read the book while in the back of my father’s Lincoln going through

Wyoming, Utaha, Colarado and Kansas sometime later. I read about Wart,

600 pages and how he had braved the woods to meet Merlin who was

growing old into the Past and was born in the Future so that he could

remember the Future and he had Arthur placed at the foot of a Castle to hide

him.

As I approached the last few pages as a young child of just seven

I knew that I was saying goodbye to a friend, a just in case.

That not even the greatest author can hide the presence of the final pages.

Arthur brought his Page to his tent the evening before battle. A young boy

and asked him what he would do in Battle the next day and the boy, Thomas

of Warwick said that he would die for his King. Arthur asked him instead to

live and to leave the battle field that night to return home to Warwick to tell

Arthur’s story. And you see it is the story that is the once and future King.

King’s do not return from Nunneries except in young boy’s books.

And it was Milton from Thomas who told the story of King Arthur.

The taming of Society. Britain. The establishment of Society. Behind Enemy

Lines. Right Harris?
