When the Night

When the night comes in its cloak and the light vanishes.

Away. Do you wait unapologetic until morning.

Do you spit into the darkness for stealing one moment one second

of cherished away. Do you curse the turn of your heart to sorrow

in the constant downfall of sleep. Do you curse existance.

In the sorrow, the pitter patter of eyelids. The unavoidable fall

and surrender to how that drowsy turn of each second

twists your fate from sleep to tears. Another night is stolen from me.

Another minute. Another second. Did a child write…. I pray my soul my lord to

take. Hell no! He would write,,, off to the kitchen for ice cream and cookies

and then...
