I used a defensive position to defend myself when someone charged at me. I remember being scarred that I wouldn’t remember what to do and wasn’t sure if I could keep from getting hurt. I have been doing some research with CoPilot where I was told that what I had used wasn’t taught until the 3rd or 6th degree blackbelt level. I remember vaguely that I took Taekwondo at the YMCA with Eddie so that when we slept out, we would be safe. And I studied Korean a lot to be organized. And in 1973 they had asked the Master that had come in from Korea when they were setting up Little Rock, one of the three, if he would come into our town and visit me. Eddie and I did not have uniforms, and we spent a dollar each day at the Y, because we knew that my parents wouldn’t let me join if I asked for a membership, or even let me go if I asked – Just cause. I had learned Korean with Eddie, and we kept these things to ourselves away from my family. When the Master came into town to visit, we talked for a long time, and he left me his belt as a kindness.
