Chic too Chic

We did not live in a mansion. We lived in Kokomo.

We didn’t have a second or a third home. We had a camper

down on Pondera on Sand Point. My father’s black ties were thin.

In winter his suits were wool. My mother’s Mink went to her waist.

When we moved down here in our neighborhood in the Midwest

the community was chosen to get me into this specialty school.

I read Vonnegut starting in sixth grade and Updike. In the summers

during Elementary School we would spend in Spokane with my favorite

cousins. I traveled in the late sixties and early seventies sleeping in

parks and schools and Churches. I am restrained by what I

say along the way. For many reasons. I would like to be open,

but I am reserved. I would love to tell you of Yellowstone and Montana

and the East coast.

I would love to tell you about Elephant Pants? (gigantic bell bottoms).

I would like so much for so many things. I’ve been asked to play

in a band at a Church and they will teach me. As a child one kindness

upon another in my life from others. And still the same.

And I do deserve it? I am a kind person who cares. I think soon I will switch

to short stories perhaps since I am at a resting point in poetry and

exposition on my life. I may find that very enjoyable for a while. And I am

going to post my practice on the guitar and piano as well.
